    Glass Lids

The glass covers on the setups are much thinner and are UV protected tinted. They also are not etched as some are. The only thing I can tell you aside from buying the casing, is be careful not to get the bulb wet.

    Glass Lids

Yes you will lose not only light intensity but you could also run into heat issues. Evaporation helps cool the water. If you put the lids back on, the heat exchange will drastically become reduced. Also, assuming the lids are glass, they are going to diminish not only the amount but the...

    Mighty Putty?

If it is, it might start flying off the shelf as many people will want to order it as it seems cheaper than the actual reef epoxy. If it is the same compositional make up and I find the manufacturer and being reef safe, I am going to start carrying it.

    Mighty Putty?

I just saw a commercial regarding a product that seems to be very similar to REEF EPOXY. The product spokesman is the guy from OXYCLEAN or whatever the heck its called. It apparently goes by the name MIGHTY PUTTY and has the same color of green on the outside white in the middle, it a tubelike...

    Royal Gramma agressive?

There are yellow streaks in the head of the caribbean and not in the brazillian. Also, the brazillian has a larger mouth. Unfortunately, unless you have both in front of you, its hard to tell mouth size.

    Royal Gramma agressive?

There are two species that look very similar. The caribbean version and the brazillian one. Both can be aggressive to other tank mates as it fights for places to make home. Most of the time the caribbean is easy to get along with others but sometimes you will get one that simply wants to...

    Heniochus Reef Safe?

Like I said in a previos post. This is one of those dilemas that we retailers have a hard time figuring out. We have seen both kinds become unreef safe and pick at anemone base as well so we just assume to label them not reef safe and be done with it.

    Anybody Doing This?

Mollies can be acclimated to SA & FW. They reason some people do this is to cycle as well as providing a consistant food source. Mollies are live bearers and breed like rabbits. So giving your other fish a treat of live FRY is always a bonus to the tank. There is nothing wrong with doing so...

    Percula + Clarkii

Consider the Clarkii as Mike Tyson & Robin Gibbons as the percula. They will fight as the Clarkii is an aggessive species. Down goes Robin.

    Heniochus Reef Safe?

Well, it is not as easy as it seems. I myself do what I can to place information on each species and size of tank recommended, compatibility charts are always vague and to some will never be accurate. And if we get it wrong, lets say a fish didnt get the memo about being reef safe, then we...

    Heniochus Reef Safe?

This is one of those things that make every seller/buyer confused. Although one is reef safe and the other is not, both do eat the feet of anemone's if given a chance. The subtle differences as mentioned before are GENERALLY the way to tell however, many people in the business including the...

    Dosing lime reduce nitrates

Lime or lime water? Lime water aka kalkwasser will not reduce nitrates directly but will give your protein skimmer a small boost and thus help it remove waste before it breaks down completely and becomes a problem. If the person is talking about the fruit lime, never heard of such a thing.
