I have the orbit 4x65w with led. i think it is a well built fixture and the fans are rugged and the moonlights are great. all in all i think it is a well made light.

ok i understand the use of marine plants, and for the dsb and the small skimmer. the dsb will sink phosphates and reduce the amount of nuscience algie, while denitrifying and bieng a breeding groung for beneficial microfauna. I was once an avid bare bottomer sps guy. since then i have converted...

get a giant skimmer and that is all you are ever going to need.

its the best powerhead on the market. really reliable and the controller allows a variable speed setting so your flow rate changes constantly. imo the best way to move water in a reef tank hands down.

what size is the tank?

i had a thriving sps tank and couldent keep an elegance. died in (2) weeks i wouldent want to spend money on it again!

cut your photoperiod in half run a crap load of a phos remover in a reactor secure your powerheads feed every 4th day stop doing so mant dang water changes and let things settle down my 2 cents

piece of crap. . . . buck up and buy the skimmer best investment by far for a marine tank.

i am in the process of building a 4 foot tall acrylic beckett style skimmer. so far the material cost me a little over 100 bucks but i still need a pump and beckett injector to run it. but it will be a monster.
