    Which pump?

    No problem;)

    Which pump?

I was just talking about the conventional fuge/sump below the tank (in your case the basement). And instead of buying a huge pump that will not be very efficient pumping that high, to get a smaller one that fits the needs of your fuge/sump and then get another one to make up the difference in...

    Which pump?

And some brands are IWAKI, HD, GENX, and Dolphin. I'm sure there are more high pressure pumps out there, these were just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

    Which pump?

I would get a high pressure application external pump. They come in various sizes so just look at the chart for how much head there will be and get the one that suits your needs. Also a more practical route may be to get a smaller high pressure application external pump that will support your...

    the igorence of some people....

It's real big problem with tangs. I decided to take my chances with a powder brown (about 2 months ago) that was eating at the fish store and even ate in my tank and 2 days later was dead for no appearent reason other than poisoning. Just out of curiosity, I left him in a bucket outside with...

    Changing out VHO lights?

I've been running my current set of VHO bulbs for 13 months. I have my replacements sitting behind the tank, but have not seen any problems at all so far. Everything is growing just as fast as ever. I'm probably going to go ahead and replace them though, just to prevent a neucance algae bloom...

    Lighting

I just read your original post again and for some reason thought that it was a hexagon tank the first time i posted. What are the dimensions on the tank? And back to my first question, what do you want to keep in it?

    Lighting

3 feet is pretty deep, so it comes down to what you would like to keep in it. For softies I would go with a 175 to minimize temp issues and still have enough light. If you wanted to keep sps and clams, I would go with a 250 DE to help with the heat and get the additional light to penetrate to...

    i'm so depressed!

I agree that you are overstocked. A refugium would be a huge help for you as well (the bigger the better). But until then I would do about a 20 - 25% waterchange about every 3 days to get your nitrates below 20, closer to 10 would be better in order to keep what you have alive, bc I;m sure it...

    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PODS!!

As long as the fuge has a lot of pods and they have a way to get into the display tank, you might be ok. How much rock do you have? I have over 300#'s of LR with a refugium and only have a mandarin and a wrasse that eat my pods and they do a pretty good job of keeping them depleted to the point...

    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PODS!!

It depends on how much rock you have. Without 80+ pounds, the dragonet will be able to hunt most of them down and gradually starve to death. If you have a lot of rock and can see a lot of pods, then I would say you are about ready to add one if you want.

    help building a big stand

If you are confident in your building skills and know what you are doing, use plywood. It will be stronger than solid lumber 1 because of the ply and 2 because it is straighter. Plus, you will have more room on the inside. All I have on my 180 stand is plywood and that is all that will support...

What kind of light do you have? Without knowing that, I would say some mushrooms would be your best bet.

    Possible Frag Tank?

I guess it would work, it just seems kinda small for a frag tank though. It just depends on how much you want to be able to put in it. IMO I would at least buy a 20 gal since you can get a brand new one for $20.

    Cyno, but kinda weird

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it if all your parameters are in check. If you have any detectable nitrates, you might want to go ahead and do a 15% waterchange or so to make sure it doesn't bloom in your tank, but I have a fairly high bioload on my 180 and over the past year have had about 2...
