I just read some poor reviews on the Seio, especially when using them with a timer. Does the Nanostream work well when being turned off and on again repeatedly? I was thinking of getting 2-4 of them and using them with my coralife timers. I'm running out of outlets. I have 4 to choose from...

    Tangs

I dunno, I've read not to mix tangs of same shape but I always see a ton of tangs in people's tanks. Good question.

Okay, so my concern is still the deadspots. Will these Nanostreams help eliminate deadspots? Would you suggest the Stream model or Nanostream model. I can only afford 2 of the Stream 6060 models. That would be equivalent to 4 Nanostreams in output.

    macro-algae and phosphates

I read in the archives that phosphates build up in LR, sand and algae. My only concern is chaetomorpha macro-algae. When it turns from thin bright green "spaghetti noodles" to thick dark, even black...is it time to remove it from the system? I was thinking that might help remove some phosphates...

    Saddle-back Butterflyfish

I can only say he's picking at my LR, maybe for food. I did see him eat once 3 days ago (Formula One frozen food). LFS was feeding mysis shrimp, won't eat it when I feed mysis shrimp. Okay, thanks for clearing up on the compatability. I'll have to come up with a different species if I still...

I am very interested in the Tunze powerheads. Can you explain how the nanostream works differently than a MJ PH? I know they offer ALOT more flow in GPH but what else?

    getting back in it

Did you ever introduce copper into the tank before? If so, forget it and buy a new tank. Remember, copper kills inverts and corals.

    Saddle-back Butterflyfish

I'm a little worried...he's been swimming in a figure 8 pattern around the tip of one rock for an hour. Is he "fluttering" like a butterfly as the butterflyfish are supposed to or is it something else?

Great pics...been awhile. You know I HAD to change my avatar to post on this thread. lol I never did get my feet wet with corals. I'm still putting it off. Thinking of starting a Nano, maybe next summer.

Euro-reef is the heat. Overskim is a good rule of thumb. If your tank is 150g, get one that handles at least 250+, know what I mean?

    Hypothetically speaking...

I also like to build my own but if I were to buy a stocked setup like yours which would basically be an addtional tank in my house, this is what I would pay: Depending on how long it's been established and if you've QT'd all fish. Less than 3 years and no=$2000 More than 3 years and yes=$2000+
