If you just like moderate sand sifting then you can go with a regular shrimp goby. Still sifts but just not as much :)

I say the remora is as quiet as they come. No noise what so ever. The water lever on the tank should meet where the water comes out from so there is no splashing.... the powerhead doesnt make any noise and it doesnt gurgle like venturi skimmers. Coralife is good too, but they are really bulky...

AquaC remora. I have it hooked up to my 72gal and its never released any micro bubbles in my tank. But AquaC would be the way to go for HOB.
