    as far as the predrilled being for reef tanks only, this is not the case. It is just a better way to get water from the main tank to your lower sump. you can use these types of tank for any aquarium, fresh or saltwater.

    you can try and add some powerheads to keep the water moving to cut down the build up a little but otherwise i think most of all just have to clean our tanks. just part of the hobby

    Upgrading from 55g to a 75g?

    i did that and i have to say that i regret it. only for the fact that i outgrew the 75 gal in months. If you can only afford the 75 i would go ahead and upgrade, but if you can afford to go big then i would save up and just buy a big tank and call it done for a couple of years. just my opinion.
