    can I add another clown?

I have one false perc now, about 2 inches. I would like to add another because I like the way two interact with each other. Can I add another or will they fight? Would it be better to get one bigger or smaller than the one I have now? TIA

    Clams under VHO

Josh, To respond to your suggestion. I'm actually looking for lights for the 75g, not my 25g. I'm not going to be adding to the 25g as that will either become a sump or a small hospital tank when the 75 is ready. I figure if I can get enough input on this I can maybe make a decision between...

    Clams under VHO

My main concern is that I am fairly new to this hobby. I have a 25G tank now, and will be purchasing a 75 within a couple weeks. I am trying to decide on lighting. I don't really want MH but most people on the board tend to say that it is best. I would really like to know what everyone...

    Clams under VHO

Another point about the post I was referring to, he also stated and you could see in the pictures that his clams were on the sand bed, not up in the tank. Standerd 75g is 20" deep I think, so they weren't up next to the surface either. Like I said, I don't want a arguement, rather some good...

    Clams under VHO

A couple of days ago someone posted pictures of his clams under only 440W of VHO on a 75G. Mostly every post I've read here says not to have clams without MH. This persons clams looked incredible. I wanted to know what some of you think of this situation and also why MH is suggested all the...

    PC or VHO

75G tank. Looking at 4x55W PC's or something comparable in VHO. No MH. What are your suggestions? Not planning on keeping any of the really high light corals.

    Converted to PCs.....Very Hot!

You can modify an eclipse hood easily. Heat up a knife and then you can cut the hood like butter;) . I had to do some modification to get my sea clone skimmer to work with the eclipse hood. It doesn't look as good, but gets the job done.

    peppermint shrimp and Aptisia

If you can, pull the rock that the aiptasia is on out of the tank and then inject them. If you pull the rock out they can't suck back into the rock and then they are very easy to get. I haven't pulled any of the dead ones off the rock, but they seem to disappear by themselves.

    Are peppermint shrimp bad?

I've also heard that they will eat feather dusters as well. So are peppermint shrimp reef safe? And if they are what do you want to keep away from them?

    Will these fish work together?

I've done a lot of reading on the anemone and that would be down the road awhile before I would even consider that. Those are just the things that I first thought of when I started thinking of the aquarium. I've heard good and bad about the yellow tail blue damsels, what do you guys think...

    Will these fish work together?

I'm about to start adding fish to my tank. I want to add a yellow tail blue damsel, then a clown with anemone, and finally a small yellow tang. Does anyone see any problems with these other than the yellow tang getting too big? If the yellow tang does out grow my tank a friend of mine has a...

Aiptasia - best way to get rid of?

OK, I researched a bit and determined that it's aiptasia in my tank. How do I go about getting rid of it? I've read that peppermint shrimp would do this for me, but since my tank is new do I want to had a peppermint shrimp now? TIA PS - All levels are really good in our tank. LFS couldn't...

Aiptasia - best way to get rid of?

I'm a newby so bear with me. I started my tank about a month ago. On some of the live rock there is some plants growing off of them that have a clear tube with some tenticle looking things on the ends of them. The store I bought the rock at said that it is rock anemone and that you're bound...
