went to lfs to get iodine and magnesium test kit, but sorta hesitant to buy it, since i dont know how critical is it to monitor these levels. i usually do a 20% water change every week, but going cut back to every 2 weeks.

tested my calcium 2 days ago, was around 420-450... sorta hard to get acurate reading from the test kit. kh = 10.2, alk = 3.66, ph = 8.2.

what is ideal kh/alk reading?

really up to you... most people recommend moving them, since it cause levels building up. i run my wet/dry with bio balls, levels are usually at 0.

thanks... was told it takes some time, but figure a month is a long enough time. maybe its just me, moving them around to find a perfect spot for them. i have other shrooms and all looks great. just not the new additions.

i bought some huge shrooms about a month ago. They dont seem to bloom as much as when i saw it at lfs. any idea why? had it in high light area, then moved it to low light, but doesnt seem to help. thanks
