    When I take it out of the tank it's body is covered with a mucusy coating. You can't really see it but you know it is alive because it squirms.

    Thanks, I did look for yellow sponges that were web-like. I didn't find anything close to this. I would imagine there are thousands of varities. At least I know it is a sponge.

    I got the chromis before I knew much about this hobby. I sure wish they weren't in my tank but they are. I have had no luck on catching anything in my tank when I needed to other than a complete tear-down. I guess they are here for the duration. Wonder how long they live?
