Oh, by all means those fish are good- depending on the angel choice.

    coral banded shark

That is no where near enough. You need a quality wet/dry with a serious flow rate (read >1000 gal/hr). Keep a large canister on there to run a lot of carbon. You also need a quality skimmer.

could i get a puffer with my tank?

He will put a lot of stress on the bioload and gets rather large to last long-term in a 30. I would say wait for some more water.

To all lion keepers that cant get theirs to eat.

There shouldnt be any live foods being fed to them at all ideally. Frozen food with vitamins or fresh seafood IMO is the only way to go. MoaryM hit it on the head. Now that he eats, wait a week and try something else. Dangle it at the surface and make him think its alive. My v lion was so...

    180 stocking ?

I agree with SS. There is a lot of fin nippers on that list. I say ditch the lion, on ditch the trigger, puffer and maybe the angel depending on species.

    Are corals safe...

Some of those fish need some room. In a reef tank over aggressive you obviously have a lot more rock and space is at a premium. What size are we talking here?

    Eel Tank

Any tankmates would be fine in general as long as they are not crustaceans. These are thier main food source in the wild. I have heard stories of SFEs attacking fish, however. With it being so small I wouls say any swimming fish bigger that 2 inches is safe for now.

I got him for $150 under a special order. I would still love to have a hawaiian, but I just dont want the $150 eel to desimate the $800 eel.:D

Yeah, and hes really good with it, but he told me up front that the supplier he gets them from isnt really "first-rate" so its still a gamble even if they eat at the store for him.

No, when I lost the first I decided to ditch the other too. I keep trying to come up with something else to put in there with him but I keep coming back to lions. I wish my LFS would stock any kind of dwarfs due to the bad shipping rep.

He definately doesnt have any problems eating. I decided to throw a 4" coral beauty in there to give the tank some color and that thing didnt last 2 hours. Every piece gone! He still ignores my 1" cleaner shrimp though. Go figure.
