It really depends on if this is the last tank you plan to drill. If so then I would just Dremel them if you already have a dremel. But on the bay there are hole saws really cheap and they work well. I've done a couple of tanks and fuges with the ones I have. i think they were under $25 for...

This may sound goofy but oh well. Try a plant nursery and look at hanging plant mounts. Nice long L shape hangers that also probably look pretty nice. BTW. I changed out my Tek ballast with an Ice Cap 660 on my 4 bulb section and WOW! what a difference. Those 4 bulbs alone are pulling like 300...

Where are the bubbles coming from? Do you have a sump and how big? Did this problem just start? Issues with the skimmer maybe? need some more info.....

You really don't want to adjust the drain. 2@1" pipes will give you approx 1200 gph. Then you have to match the pump (including head) to the OF. Thats is an awful lot of flow coming from the return and sump. Unless you going with a very large sump you will probably have issues with micro...

I forgot to mention that you will NOT have to buy all LS. I would buy a couple of pounds of good aquacultred LS (SWF.com) and use that to seed a bunch of dry bagged sand. A bit easier on the wallet.......

JMHO, b/c this is a touchy subject..... But if starting out fresh I would go with sand. CC needs to be kept clean by vacuuming. Sand does not! It is argued that CC is not good for inverts. Really don't know I haven't had a conversation with any snails lately! Sand will not allow as much detritus...
