Just to add... When feeding frozen foods DO NOT put the water that the food was thawed in, in the tank! Always strain off the water and just add the thawed food!

Sounds to me like to OF's can handle the flow but maybe you're out flowing the sump. With the added flow is there enough time for the bubbles to disapate before being returned to the tank? I mean 1200 is fine for the tank but maybe not the sump. Can you adjust the flow of the pump a bit and see...

I use Salifert on everything but ALK. I like the Tropic Marin kit. One bottle count drops and done. Its as accurate as Salifert b/c I have that too and matches perfectly everytime. HTH Tim

If your thinking of a 55 I would STRONGLY suggest bumping up to a 75. Equipment is all pretty much the same but that extra 6" front to back is invaluable. Ask anybody with a 55 (me) and that is most likely the first thing they will say they wish they had was more room front to back. As Doc said...

I had 2 electric blue hermits. (not the reg blue guys). These are the Hannibal Lecture of hermits. They wipped out all the snails and other hermits in my tank. Needless to say they found another home at the LFS!

I think the issue with city water is consistency. You never know what or how they maintain the systems. I have to believe that variations of supply water means variations in the water being supplied to your home. Added chemicals, flushing lines, ETC ETC.......... I don't trust my well water...

I think Ameno has a 4 way on his 125 thread I'll have to look. The dart is for the CL ro return? In either case isn't that just crazy flow for a 125? I was looking at the Wahoo or Tarpin for my 120! With that 1 pump you at almost 30x right there. Am I missing something here? Tim
