How look has this W/D been settup for... I've heard that they are the cause for some Nitrate/PO4 Problems. From what I've read.... you should slowly what out the bioballs for LR rubble.... just my .02

I think your doing the right thing adam. don't do a thing until you get your RO. your LF should have the test kits... it not then check the web.

I'm 80% sure that the problem your having is because to the tap water... a similar thing happend to me when I 1st start and it turned out to be something they (my Co-op) started adding to the water. all in all you should try to get the salifert test kits. they really are the best!

after the second large WC that should cut the contamication down to about 1/2. the only concern I have it that you LR & sand may have sucked up some of these Chem that are causing you problem... if that is the case, you you may have to start all over with new rock and sand.

if you have worms in you tank..... He'll be very happy. that usually what they eat in the wild.... along with left overs. Mine seems to find at least one every night. It's fun to watch him try and dig one out of the rocks.
