    just adding new lighting alone can cause the algae . good or bad lighting can do this. it is not uncommon to get an algae bloom shortly after adding new lighting.

    everytime i think i have seen every zoa i find more. they change so much even in little ways i dont think i could ever have them all. so far at last count i have 132 morphs

    my guess is its more dark green then black but anyhow chances are its bubble algae. to remove it just knock it off the rock and pull it out. try not to pop it becasue that will just spread it. surrprisingly they are rather sturdy little things. here is a pick of a small group of bubble algae.
