    Nori

no I just thought you thought it was his list of random fish that would and wouldn't eat nori and you were adding to the list. I didn't realize you realized it was his fish list by your comments. I really didn't mean anything other than clarification but appearently clarification wasn't needed (...

    Skimming: wet vs dry

I like to think neither or somewhere in between. if I had to pick though wet. dry pulls out waste slower and quickly makes the skimmer less efficient sludging up the riser and top part of the skimmer.

    anyone use Caribsea Phos-buster pro?

most liquid phosphate removers are lanthanum (phosphate binder) which bonds the phosphate and is then skimmed or filtered out. google search lanthanum and phosphates (although you'll likely get more medical use links). they do work but less risk are involved using GFO.

    How good are Deltecs?

there are more cutting edge, better performing and better built skimmers for the money IMO (for example build materials arent as good as a BK or much anything else in its price range for that matter, several pumps now outperform the aquabees and there are no cone deltecs not that I believe in...

    Nori

my sixline is the first one over when I clip nori. my clown picks it too. my lawnmower blenny is the only reason I clip any and it eats it. My royal gramma is the only fish that completely ignores it.

    SPS frag

what did it come out of and what do you have? I have 20k 150w halides so most every frag I buy will have come from higher lighting and only have 1hr to 24hr transit time so I have never found it neccessary. If you have strong lighting (250w XM 10k for example) move it up a little each week. this...

    Too much light possible?

if you have a good fixture what you have now is sufficient to keep anything. You definately dont need more than 2 more unless you are trying to scortch stuff or have mediocre fixtures. for example an 8 bulb ATI would likely be way over kill for a 20" tall, 18" deep 75g. an 8 bulb nova extreme on...

    copper leaching

no it doesn't leach. myth that it does and in practice from personal experience makes no difference if the tank was treated with copper in the past. perhaps it can leach from substrate or rock but I'm not sure.

    20K USHIO or 20K RADIUM?

Radiums are bluer (especially on an electronic ballast) and have more PAR than the ushios. then again they cost a bunch more. the ushios are more "VHOish" purplish. No real difference in "pop". they both have that down. Aquamaxx 14k has the radium look with less PAR (not less than the Ushio...

    Maxi Jet vs Koralia.

maxi-jet sureflow for outright moving water. Koralia more dispersed. Maxi-jet WAY smaller than K4. you can put the shroud inside the K4 housing. sure-flow mod finiky with which maxi-jets they like. certain sizes work better/quieter depending on which propeller used. without the sure-flow...

    4000th post picture thread

thanks. yeah it once had a shallow sand bed but I didn't like it with high flow. The vodka is great! I went thru a bottle of biofuel first and vodka is hands down more potent and economical. this is about the last shot of it with sand

Okay this makes 4003 but it would have made 4000 when it was at 3999 and I thought of it. Got a little red turf algae problem. well have always had it since I introduced it but now I dont manually pull it so its obvious. The Vodka/GFO is working but damn slow. lenny the blenny my last and final...

Have any of you heard of this...

there are enough sps coral feeds and "growth enhancers" with known or listed ingredients to bother experimenting with these mystery formulas like this and snow ect that dont tell you spefically whats in them. I'm not saying it doesn't work but dont you want to know what your feeding and paying for?
