    DIY Sump...baffles?

Ok, I found a glass shop and had 4 pieces of 1/4" glass cut yesterday. I was reading up some of Squidd's old threads and diagrams. A few of them showed only 2 baffles used at each seperation point. That's why I got 4, not 6. Only problem is...2 of them are a hair to wide. Would it hurt to place...

    Water change day

Sounds a little overly cautious to me, until I see you are running a 30G??? With an aquarium of that size I would definetly make ANY changes as gradual as possible. Don't forget though, SG rises with evaporation. How often are you topping off? Make sure you use fresh water to top off, just a...

    Really stupid question

my .02 on plexiglass. I cut some acrylic to use as a topper for my sump to help with evaporation and within 2 days it was all bowed out. Make sure you get a decent thickness if you go with acrylic.

I have 4 Maxijet 900 powerheads in my DT. The suction cups won't seem to hold for more than a week. What's the deal? I've scraped the glass and cleaned the suction cups. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions besides gluing them to the tank? It's really starting to tick me off, the are...

    DIY Sump...baffles?

MAVGI, Awesome pics, thank you. What is the thickness of your baffles? The glass I have found is normally used for picture frames and is only 2.5mm thick. Is the fan above your sump used for cooling? Is it effective? How do you like your skimmer?
