Just bought a new Magdrive 1800 as my return pump. Its not too loud at all, just wondering if there are any tricks to lessen the vibration noise on the bottom of my glass sump? Also, it came with a small pad I stuck to the bottom - are these ok to have in my tanks circulation?

If I drill in one or two 1/8" holes in my return line just below the water surface, should I still get a Check Valve? I hear they reall slow down the flow (GHP). Is there any type that's better than the others?

This might be a dumb question, but does the Diameter of the tubing/PVC/elbows, etc used for your Sump/Return/Overflow affect the overall flow of the water? In other words, if my Mag18 has a 3/4" output, will I get better flow rates, more efficient, if I use 1" ID tubes/pipes??

Has anyone ever heard of this stuff and/or had any experience? I will need to seed my southdown and dont trust my LSF (unfortunately ) enough to take a scoop from their tank. Is this stuff for real? IPSF has it. I hear you only need a scoopful of LS to seed.

ah. thats it. i was thinking you meant 900gph when you said 900's. got it then. well, i guess i'll have to go out and get a new pump for my sump. i am building a new one and having the pump return branch off and send a small to my fuge to turnover 6-8 x's. thanks for the feedback!

so if have have three powerheads at 900 each and a sump at 900, that give me 3600gph which = 48x's turnover rate. sounds high. i must be missing something :)
