    ? about Xenia

are you doing water changes?? My experience with xenia is that dosing iodine helps. But if you are doing regular water changes there should be enough iodine already. If you do decide to dose, id suggest buying a iodine test kit-- and make sure you dose very small amts. HTH, Mark

    When to add livestock

just make sure your ammonia and nitrite are at 0 then you're safe to start adding. Inverts wont add much to the bioload, but make sure you dont add too many fish at once. What are the specs on your tank? Size, lighting, filtration, etc.?? HTH, Mark

110 gallon vs. 65 gallon fish only

i dont consider larger tanks to be that much more work, but they are more money. You'll need more live rock, lighting, corals, cleanup crew, salt, etc. Pretty much more of everything. The larger the tank the more margin for error you will have with your water specs. To grow corraline on...

what brand of supplements do u use?

I use Warner Marine supplements, Calcium/Alk Buffer, Trace Elements and Iodine. Id recommend you test for everything you dose, you can get in trouble if your levels get too high. Lots of ppl dont add anything, regular water changes should replentish everything your tank needs. Mark

what kind of protein skimmer should i get?

how much are you looking to spend. You can spend 400+ for top of the line or get a nice skimmer for around 200. I use a berlin turbo, rated for up to 250 gallons and around $200. It really depends on what you want to spend. HTH, Mark

    Southdown sand?

Very good choice to go with a DSB instead of CC. Do exactly what trojan said, you are one of the lucky ones that has access to southdown. Everyone is the south has a really hard time getting any. Good luck with your tank. Mark

    what corals?

sorry to burst your bubble but you cant keep much under those lights. Most corals require more intense lighting than regular florescent lights. You might be able to get away with keeping some mushrooms, but ive never tried anything under that lighting. Mark
