    This is Unbelievable!

So sorry to hear of your luck...another thing I would check though is your stand. Maybe its off and causing some stress to the tank, therefore resulting in crack(s). Just a thought (I'm sure you already looked at that too). Def get it back to the LFS or seller for a replacement and do the last...

    Novice Nori Sheets question

Yup! That's what happens....I wrap a piece to a small chunk of LR (rubber band) and put it in the tank away from strong flow. They will find it and the CUC will finish off what's left! Maybe give that a try

P Mint Shrimps...how "big" is "safe"?

Thanx Spanko and Meowzer! Definetely right on the aiptasia (none)...maybe thats why they grew! I fish sometimes in FL and they are slowly reaching hook size! I guess "size" doesn't matter, in shrimpys, that is

P Mint Shrimps...how "big" is "safe"?

I have 2 peppermints in my Nano 24 that are now about 2" in length/size. Has anyone else experienced a growth spurt such as this and are they still safe in the tank w/ 2 clowns, yellow wman, and a firefish, plus lots of corals and CUC? They have not been a problem at all, but the size is...

ever heard of a 4 day job interview?

Congrats JTT! It sounds like a wonderful opportunity. I have never been thru something so intense before, but from reading your post, I am confident that you will prevail. Find strength in your faith, practice what you think they might be looking for, with your wife. Rehearse it till you know it...

    A Big Mistake..Need Help

IMO 1 degree an hour will be OK. After the temp reaches 78 +/- maybe do a water test and if needed a w/c. If all is OK just do you w/c on your scheduled day. Very happy that all is well which means you must have a healthy tank

    Introducing Myself

Looks great, love the rockwork! Now its time for some splashes of color...zoas, shrooms, etc.! I would put the more light demanding corals toward the top and middle due to your tank being so tall, but you should be able to keep quite a selection!

    A Big Mistake..Need Help

I agree with Casper...let the lights and heater bring the temp back up slowly; hopefully all is OK. If you are planning a w/c though, make sure that water is also the same temp. Do you have a 2nd one (heater)? Maybe put the w/c off for a day, let things stabilize. 70 is quite chilly-here in FL...

I feel like a cold blooded murderer

Good Morning Lorene...this is the PETA police, please put your hands behind your back and assume the position!! I am guilty of said crime also. Had a gorilla terrozing my 12, found his hidey hole and pulled the rock out. Placed it in a bucket of w/c water and a small powerhead for about a week...

Morning GP! I love pics, 2,3,4,5......LOL I am a zoa lover! Btw what are those in 2,4 and the last pic? And where do you find such great additions? Live north of Tampa and hunt from there(Tampa) to G'ville on a reg basis and just don't see those colors anywhere..I re-aquascaped and have room!!!

    Toxic Carbon

I would also run a test on the water from your LFS and adjust accordingly. For a 24, I buy my own RO water and mix; for that size tank its really no chore at all. Then I know whats going in it!

    Toxic Carbon

I would let the calcium take care of itself thru water changes, right now getting the ph up is a little more important. Hopefully the chemi will stablize things for you. Is your test kit newer and salt good? just a thought...

    Toxic Carbon

I think maybe another param in your tank is off (alk, salinity, mag?) and might be reacting badly toward the charcoal, or the charcoal you purchased was somehow contaminated. Leaning towards the latter. Get some Chemi-Pure, rinse in tank water well (outside the tank) and put it in the 1st...

Sharing of treatment for various diseases.

I used it in my reef tank and it had no adverse effects. Both fish are fine and did not loose a coral or an invert. The concentration of formaldhyde is way lower than formalin. I am no chem major but it was a success for me. The decision to use it would have to be yours alone....If my LFS, who...

Algae problem in 12 gallon Nano

Nassarius snails....costa are really good or just plain black nass (10), turbo snails 2-3), Shrimp are OK; I have them for onamental purposes but I guess they do their job! And Chemi-Pure(elite if possible) will remove alot of those xtra 'bad' nutrients floating around. I use a full bag (10 or...

Algae problem in 12 gallon Nano

A 12G is a really tough tank to keep, due to its water volume. One little event to throw numbers off and you got a bring problem getting it back on track. (I have one!) Anway, do you have a test kit? And a refractometer to check salinity? Instant Ocean is a great salt and have used it for years...
