id try to keep your salenity at about 0124 knowing how inaccurate those hydrometers are mine read 0125 and when i got my refractometer it was 0128! watch out and if you look in the right places you can get one for 35 bucks like i did :joy:
i think the pets remark may be because a cat or dog or even a bird could have cought the fish, i know i wouldn't put it past my cat... course shes half feril...

what your thinking of are the green brittles (the bad fish eaters) common brittles are fine infact 1 have 2 3 inch leggers in my 55 as well as one monster foot long tentacled red one that i just feed krill occasionally
