    Actually, a sudden burst of any light can cause stress in fish. Softies include: Mushrooms Zoanthids Xenia Leather Coral (cabbge, toadstool, devilshand, finger, etc.) Colt Coral Basically anything that doesn't have a skeleton.

    Very good question, I also thought of this some time ago and researched it. Studies have shown that the tissue cells of coral (not sure if that includes ALL coral) and anemone do not show a detoriation rate. Therefore have the potential to literally live forever if kept in the correct...

    Neither of those fish will fit and/or be happy in a 5gal. I suggest a barnacle blenny or a pair of neon gobies. A tank full of shrimp would be really colorful and interesting. Shrimp have a lot of personality.
