Marine Dip during Acclimation: What is it?

Marine Dip never heard of it... It does not sound like it would be worth the money as there is no dip that will substitute for quarantining fish. You need to identify the pest so you can use an effective treatment to cure the fish. As a general term for any of the many different marine...

Cheap LED fixtures now are dimmable?!?!?!

The Chinese LED fixtures can be ordered customized. Just to order them you have to buy a minimum number and many retailers down here order them in group buys. So ask for specifics and see if you can get what you want.

    Manetic Rock

I have an old Tunze Turbelle Magnetic Holder that I been eyeballing they are real strong. Was thinking of getting some Aquarium Epoxy and covering one. But any Super Strong Ceramic Magnets would work if they were strong enough for your plans.

    Manetic Rock

I have seen it before but on a small scale one or two small frags. If you do it, you have to think about how heavy it will be when the corals will be full grown. If you go cheap and small on the magnet then it may not be strong enough to hold when fully loaded with corals years later.

    Mandarin Dragonet Club!

A good read on this would be Coral magazine volume 8 number 6 the article title Rethinking Dragonets by Matt Pedersen. In the article Matt explains how to acclimate and train Dragonets off of live food.

2 Problems I need Help With. Please Help

If the skimmate is very clear then try to adjust it down, as little as you can, then wait three days. Like I was saying before if you feed a little heavy you can see more skimmed out for a day or two and that will help you know that it is set right.

2 Problems I need Help With. Please Help

Adjust it as high as you can and so no skimmate is made and it does not over flow. Leave it set like that for 3-5 days and if it does not make skimmate then feed heavy for 3 days to see if that will make some. My levels have always been 0 nitrates, 0 nitrites, 8.2 pH, 450 calcium, 12 dKh, 0...

    Microbe-Lift? Anybody used this stuff?

Hey everyone, Just wanted to give a little bit of an update on this stuff... Against my better judgement... (along with other comments) I figured i'd at least give this stuff a try.... I figure, the only way to truly learn anything is by trial and error--- But, before I went out of town, my...

43Gal Long Tank. Few Questions! :)

Hello Everyone! I Just bought a 43 Gal Long and I would love to make it into a reef!! Now, I'm debating between a HOB refugium or a sump/refuge. Anyone has tried either of them? The HOB seems like less of a hassle but the sump one could make my tank look better with less things hanging on the...

Quarantine Tank ammonia and nitrite spike.

I would check if your test kits are compatible with the Prime and you are not reading a false positive. Water changes are good and will only help at this point. Move the fish when you feel comfortable it is free of all pests.

    Hair algae issues:(

For a spot treatment I recommended to remove the rock use a drip of peroxide directly on the patch and let sit for couple minutes. Rinse then re-insert in the tank. Or for a full dip 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide dip for ten minutes. Some corals have survived Hydrogen Peroxide dips but I have not done...

    UV Sterilizer for Biocube 14g?

What exactly does this do?  Honestly, there doesnt seem to be a lot of information about it.  Will it help control nitrates?  General Tank health? Do I need to leave it on 100% of the time or turn it off? Please shed all pieces of information you know or would like to! It will not lower the...

    Microbe-Lift? Anybody used this stuff?

I wouldn't add it to the tank......My question to you is what is your maintenance routine......With being such a small tank water changes shouldn't be a big hassle or chore IMO.....If you google you might find some very good suggestions/tips for improving your filtration on the biocube.  What...

    Microbe-Lift? Anybody used this stuff?

I have used it to speed up a cycle and it does. I don't see it lowering nitrate in an older tank as the reason for higher then desired levels is more waste goes in then the bio-filter can remove. In an older tank I would recommend a long term solution like trying to balance the filtration with...
