Tim--- I used to follow their instructions and hook it to the left hand nossle, but started either pinching it, or unpluging it and just holding my finger over the end. all hooking it to the left hand nossle does is to stop air from being sucked in, so all the power from the pump is used to...

If you use hot glue- keep in mind that the way hot glue works is when it gets hot, it melts. I was not thinking of this and once upon a time attatched VHO bulb clips with hot glue.... :rolleyes: Needless to say, once the bulbs were on for a bit, the clips didn't hold the bulbs up for too...

Compuer backups wouldn't really work too well for backup IMO. The wattage is not as important as the amps. I am not very electrically inclined, but Im pretty sure that you would burn it out trying to run your VHO on it. I work for a computer company, and we had one of our customers use the UPS...

Mine actually said in the instructions to fill all the chambers first-- my guess is that they realized it woudl work better if you did that first and added it to the instructions....

The mouse traps wouldn't actually snap on the cat- they would just scare him, as when the cat jumps up, the vibration alone would set off the traps.... I would not consider that abuse... My suggestion however, would definately fall under the 'abuse' category, but i was only joking.....

Yeah the LR should have been put in saltwater as soon as you got it. the longer its out of the water, the more of it dies off.

If you are talking about the hang on one, I had the same problem with mine, but it was older than a year so i had to buy the replacemnt motor for $10. Check all the rubber gaskets, make sure they are wet, also the tube that goes into the collection bin needs to be pinched shut to start the...

Some of the people who have been here a while will remember my tragedy using 'pure' distilled water. I bought several gallons of distilled water from walm@rt, and did a water change. within several hours, all my corline algae bleached white, and i lost several fish. ended up with a 4 month...

I used black, my wife wanted blue and I won. :) Mine is mostly purple though, due to coraline algae growth
