    College Football 2004

Well I’m a staunch Nebraska fan even though we need a lot of work. Yes, Southern Miss did beat Nebraska…but to clarify a point it was more that the Southern Miss defense beat Nebraska. Being at the game I would have to say that the Southern Miss defense is amazing…I would say it’s got to be...

    What's going on?

I have about a 2 month old 20Gallon long tank. I have a clam and a few corals, 3 sexy shrimps and 2 Boxing crabs. Over the last 2 weeks I have expierenced a diatom outbreak. Now comes the part that concerns me. For about the past 3 weeks I have developed a very very healthy pod population...

    lights too intense?

If by chance you were to bleach a sps by not acclimating it to the light how do you help it recover? Or if it starts to lose it's color and you can't see any more polyps does that mean it's dead?

    PC or VHO. . .!

The website I am posting is a wholesaler of aquarium products so I hope I'm not violating any rules since they don't compete with SWF.com. http://www.sunlightsupply.com/aquarium/index.shtml Look around they have good information and you can either e-mail them or call them like I did and...

    PC or VHO. . .!

The HQI and the T-5's would make a really sweet combo. But here's the tricky part about the 24 inch T-5 bulb. I recently bought my system of T-5 lighting and since T-5 is realativly new to the marine hobby there is only one distributor for true 24inch actinic lighting. Any where else you find...

    PC or VHO. . .!

Have you ever considered T-5 lighting. T-5's are the very new to the market but are cutting edge. A recent study was performed by a third party...(some university or agency) on T-5 lighting. Now don't ask me to produce this data because it was given to me by a rival website of SWF.com. But...

    Need opinion on lighting choices

Have you every looked into T-5 lighting? I love the setup on mine. T-5's produce twice the lux than what PC's produce. That means that the light penetrates more into the tank.

    sexys

Just because something is small does not mean that it can live in a small enviroment. Some of your less active inverts can live in small and confined spaces, some on the other hand need a lot of room. It's so commonly seen that people confuse size with needs. (Please no man jokes) The hobby of...

Experts! Pom Pom Crab with a clutch of eggs.

Two hours ago I purchased two Pom Pom Crabs. When I got them home I noticed that the larger one has a clutch of orange eggs underneath her body. What should I do? Has any one had expierence with raising crab young? Should I just leave her alone and let nature take it course? Are the eggs fertile?

    tank size and floor strength

{Keep in mind this is my opinion and in no way am I giving you concrete figures there are too many variables} Ok, Figure that one cubic foot of Saltwater weights 64.1 pounds. A standard 50 gallon tank measures 36x18x18 that equals 6.75 square feet at 64.1 lbs per unit which would equal roughly...

    weight problem?

If you were to fill your tank completely full with liverock you would not even approach the wieght of the water. One cubic foot of seawater weights 64.1 pounds give or take a few ounces depending on salintiy. So a 55 Gallon tank has 7.222 cubic feet of space. If you fill that space with sea...

    Chances?

When I set up my tank I bought uncured lalo liverock. It came fully loaded colonies of button polyps. They are of course pulled back into themselves, will they eventually open up or regenerate?

    Biological Load? Inverts > or

I understand that putting fish into a tank will create a biological load on the tank. But will putting inverts put as much as a load. I would like to add 3 Sexy Anemone Shirmp, 1 Pom Pom Crab, a couple of snails and some shaving brush plants. This would be in a 20 Gallon Long tank. Is there...
