Replace one that you have. What size is the bulkhead and the diameter of the j tube? Yes there are larger. I have one rated for 1400gph and one for 700 gph on my tank. The 1400 has dual 1" bulkheads, and the other has 1 1"bulkhead.

I wouldn't risk that height for normal operation. I let mine get that high only when I lose syphon and there is no more water in the sump to pump into the tank. I've done this only to test power outage and overflow failure. I marked 2 lines in the sump, MAX ON, and MAX OFF for waterfill...

it does. but i did some resurch and found out that they are fine up to 90 degrees. So, since they 99% of systems are rated at 72 degrees, why not bring up the temp close to it? I also checked with the manufacturer of the system, and they stated that as long as I did not exceed 94 degrees...

I've got 3 175's in an enclosed hood I only use 1 4" fan sucking air out and a 4" filtered hole on the otherside. My lights are only 2-3" above water, but shielded by 1/4 plexi. I evap 2-3 gallons a day, the tank temp is usually 76-78 without a heater. the lights are only on for about 4-6...

That's it.

Also, use a pvc union joint at the pump on the out side. Makes for easy removal.

I've got a MAG 24 and it's quiet.

I implimented the bio wheels out of my emporer 400 into my sump. Works awesome and have zero everything.

I feed mine hot and cold. It keeps the temp at 68 going into the unit and makes way more than it did at 55 degrees.

I like balck. More modern. Plus, make's what's inside look more colorfull.

Full coraline encrustend. Tank only has a yellow tang, starfish with 2 legs the size of a quarter, a real small sallylight foot about the size of a dime, 1 scarlet crab and a cleaner shrimp. Same as before. Nothing has changed except the tank, lights and water.
