dont give up hope to quickly, leathers tend to get in a "foul mood" for a good week after they are fragged. the more cutting, the worse they look, for longer.

yea you can frag that way, i have done it with leathers before, only problem is sometime they dont stick, you can lose the frags

check your phosphates. they can accumulate over time regardless of those practices. in fact feeding frozen cube food often increases PO4. do you have a fuge? how old is your tank? how old is the LR? did you buy it new or used ? FME, leathers are the first corals to succumb to phosphate...

you did not answer my questions. rubberbanding can easily cut through the leather , especially really tight ones, so keep an eye out for flesh cutting.
