SWF. com uses fedex priorty express overnight so you get your fish by 1030 am the next day for most areas(there are exceptions I'm sure) so i dont see how any fish would die from lack of food. I have gotten great service everytime I've placed an order with them.

think of the refractometer as a test kit. you wouldnt want a test kit to give you false readings so opt out and get one, money well spent IMO

if you dont mind doing a little at a time i have found if you fill a large sandwich bag full of sand and slowly dump it out @ ground level you have minimal dust up. In addition if you do it with a water change you can suck out some of the dust up as well. that is what worked best for me anyhow.

coral banded shimp are nice to look at but i dont think they are very tank friendly, the fire IMO is much more appealing and tank friendly
