seems to be personal opinion as to which is better as haven't heard anything terrible about any of them. I went with the JBJ for the lighting and at the time it was JBJ 28HQI and stand for $499.00 so that was hard to pass up.

Anyone try these for Aptasia removal? I really don't want to dimantal my rockwork to get at all the aptasia I need to remove and pepermint shrimp are worthless or at least the ones I have are at gettign rid of the aptasia.

I used that same sand a few months ago, waste of $$ IMO. Nothing live about it and I really wish I had washed it first as the days long dust cloud was pretty bad. and that fine particle dust keeps moving around weaks later.

Calcium is only half the battle as Alk seems to be just as important to get the Coreline to take off. what is your alk at. also what kind of lighting do you have, as intense MH lighting will cause coreline to die off and just grow in the lower light shady areas.

sounds like Diatoms and no the LMB will not eat it. Is your tank a new set up as this is a common symptom of a new tank. diatoms feed of the silicats in the water and as they use them up it will die back naturally. Pods feed of fdiatoms and also fighting conch but nassarius will not touch them...
