    It depends on your lighting. I have mine on the sand perched up against another small piece of liverock. I keep it seperated so that it won't take over everything plus it makes it easy to frag.

    Don't torture a fish. What you should do is get some uncured live rock. The rock will have die off which will create your ammonia spike. The nitrate cycle will begin and don't put any fish in your tank until you have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and little to no nitrates.

    They arn't what you would say totally "reef safe". There are the few that will nip at corals, but for the most part they won't mess with them. I have had my Coral Beauty for a few years now and it hasn't bothered any of my corals. So it really depends on the fish.
