I kept hearing about cyano algae and my lfs has had an outbreak at their store. It is bright red and is on the ls at the store. I just have a dark purple on a couple of my lr. I hope this is just the corrine(spelling poor) algae because it is a pretty color?

I saw that is grows up to 6 inches and is also called the brown banded Goby. Is it more hardy than the Diamond or Golden Head? I'm new and don't want to kill it due to inexperience. Thanks for directing me to the right goby with the sceintific name.

One thing I just read on the Dragon Goby says it is in brackish water. It also says it looks more like an eel. Anything that looks like a snake or eel by Wife will freak out. We had a small snake on our entry way about 3 inches and she ran to the next door neighbor since I was at work. :scared:

What is better at keeping your ls nice and clean, the Diamond Goby which I heard on this site is excellent, or the Golden Headed Goby which I also heard is excellent? I have a yellow watchman goby. :notsure:

I don't know how difficult pipe fish are. Seahorses are difficult and every lfs I have been in had them together and they were doing fine together.

I wouldn't risk it. I only just started but listened to these guys and went a got live rock.

Its actually a 75 gallons tank and 44 pounds of lr. I looked it up to help.

Im looking at the Coralife needle type for a 125gallon. I only have a 90 gallon tank. Would this be alright?

Not to Cycle with Damsels which would have also meant not listening to my lfs and do more research first. After having to remove all 110lbs of lr to catch the Damsels. Next time buy a hungry lion fish or puffer to do the job. Also making the selling of those plastic hydrometers illegal.

I just got rid of my Damsels as the lfs told me to use them for cycling. After having to take all 110 pounds of lr out of the tank, I finally caught them all (8) and took them back where they gave me a 20 dollar store credit. Use shrimp and not Damsels!!

After cycling the tank, I had to remove all 110 pounds of lr and put in a pre-mixed garbage can with saltwater. It was still fun trying to catch them. I couldn't put the rock back how I had them but after a long time finally have it acceptable. The only things in there now is a cleaner shrimp...

I took the water into the lfs and it was 1.024. Man was I happy. Two hydrometers and both broken. There wasn't any bubbles that caused the problem. One was instant Ocean and the other was a red sea. What is this "Big Auction Site"? I was going to buy the one off this site. Thanks for everyones...

Yesterday I tested my water and the hydometer went straight to the top (>1.032). I started using RO water and putting that in. I'm up to 5 gallons and still to the top. I thought the hydrometer was broken and quickly bought another hydrometer and that went to the top. I had been mixing water to...

Where is Ocean environments? I'vd been to 2 lfs in Sarasota (not impressed), 1 in Venice (pretty good), won't ever go back to the one in North Port, and Pet warehouse in Port Charlotte is good.

Thanks, 90% of research comes from listening to everyones expertise from this site. I listen to everyones advise to others and not just to me. Now when I go into the lfs, I can tell more if I'm being told the wrong things.

Also, I know the Clownfish is a member of the Damsel family, but can they still go in first and not cause an aggression problem?
