I know this is a popular fish for nano tanks... for those of you who have one, what do you feed it? The description on this site says that they eat live brine and plankton...

There are a few ways to block it... I picked up an 8x10 piece of plexi from Lowes for $1 and cut it to fit, then piled up LR rubble behind it to keep it pressed against the vents. Piece of cake.

I think bioballs are good in new tanks as they cycle and then get established with livestock. However, in the long run they can cause nitrate problems and should be removed, or even better, replaced with LR rubble.

Yes, there are pros and cons to feed once vs twice a day. IMO, the kicker is the waste produced both from excess food in the water column and fish waste. If you really are feeding SMALL amounts twice a day, then you are probably fine, especially if you water tests well and you have no algae...

yikes... I feed twice (maybe 3x) a week... I would definitely cut back on your feeding. Something to consider... the clown's stomach is about the size of his eye, and you certainly don't need to fill that stomach every time you feed. I'd cut back to once a day, and I would think 1 pellet would...

I would argue to feed less. Janitors are just a bandaid to a problem (not that you have a problem, but...), feeding less is a cure. Also, perhaps you could find a type of food not so easily "horded" by the shimp. I find flake and frozen brine or mysis to be very good foods.

a powerhead in where? most people just replace the stock pump with a larger one to get more water flow. There is no "pump upgrade"... just purchase a Maxi-Jet 900 for the AP12 or a Maxi-Jet 1200 for an AP24 and replace the stock pump with the powerhead.

damsels can be very aggressive, and with our tanks being so small, finding unclaimed territory can be hard. I personally wouldn't risk it, especially if he already killed one fish (assuming you know it killed the first damsel, and it didn't die for other reasons).
