    Blue Hippo Food?

Brine shrimp is basically junk food for fish, even if it's "enriched." Try not to feed that very often. Try some mysis shrimp, Emerald Entree, Formula Two flakes/pellets, Spectrum pellets (the best!) and algae sheets. If he/she is being picky, you can soak the food in Kent Garlic X-treme or...

Well I lost Mr Wiggles :(

RIP Mr. Wiggles... We just lost Orion, our Midas Blenny, yesterday. Looks like we didn't have one side of the eggcrate wedged in all the way and he jumped through and found the hole in the back of the canopy. I found him first thing in the morning, so needless to say, I was unhappy all day.

    Porcupine Puffer Help!

I agree with above. Porcs get huge, are messy eaters, and contribute to a high bio-load. Tell your boyfriend that you love his thoughtfulness, but you've done your research and that you really can't keep a Porc in your tank. If you are able to (and you should be,) I suggest taking the Porc...

    Puffers things

Oooh... I just read an older post of yours where you listed your current stock: "small 5 inch snowflake eel be kept in a 55 gallon tank with a naso tang,foxface,2 emrald crabs, coral banded shrimp, cleaner shrimp, horseshoe crab, cleaner clam, arrow crab, and tomato clown" Did you add the Puffer to...

    Puffers things

Okay, well, first give us your tank size, and the other tankmates of the puffer and SFE... Yes, Porcupine Puffers can get very large, and generally need a tank no less than 75 gallons. They are carnivores and should be fed mostly hard, meaty foods, such as raw shelled shrimp, clams, mussel...

Do you think this fish will fit....

I'd get a Fairy Wrasse. They're peaceful and much more beautiful

    porcupine puffer

As with every fish, they each have their own temperment. What may apply for a whole genus of fish does not generally apply to each individual fish. My Valentini doesn't bother my zoo's or mushrooms (and didn't bother my star polyps when I had them) however, he did manage to wipe out all of my...

    Reef safe puffer?

No puffer is guaranteed to be reef-safe, but most of the toby/sharpnose puffers (like the Blue-Spot and Valentini) are generally reef-safe. They'll pick on your small hermits, and maybe a few snails. I have a Coral-Banded Shrimp that no one messes with, but I couldn't tell you how the smaller...

    Sixline Terror

So, after an hour of chasing the Sixline around the tank, hoping to wear him out, and blocking off all major exits and entrances of the LR, we decided to take out a couple of pieces of LR... then a couple more... then a couple more... then, finally, every thing. We managed to net the Sixline and...

    Sixline Terror

Yeah, I did a lot of reading today on WWM and see that Sixline's can be pretty aggressive, so I guess when I get home today, my mission will be to get the little bugger out. I wish I had another tank for him to go in, but at least I can get credit for him at our LFS. I am really excited about...

    Valentini Puffer

I have a Valentini, and he has been a "model fish," with the exception of ambushing most of my hermit crabs and snails He doesn't pick at any of my zoo's or mushrooms, but since I don't have corals, I can't provide an answer for that inquiry. As far as him always looking puffed up, can you...

starfish, clownfish, and blue hippo tang!!! HELPPP

The starfish may very well be just a mini-seastar that hitch-hiked in on your LR or on a frag (if you have any.) If it is a mini, you don't have to worry about feeding directly; they'll scavenge. However, it's best to post pictures, if you can, or find a picture on the internet that looks...

    pom pom/boxer crabs

I have two Boxing Crabs as well, and while they both came with (and have kept) their anemones, I've read that they will use aiptasia, soft corals, pieces of other anemones, zoo's, etc. I think they're awesome looking, even without the anemones, but I can undestand why you'd want them to have the...

Can't find my fish in tank

Check your ammonia... that may be one indicator of whether or not something is dead in the tank.

What are you feeding your Anthias

It's actually "rotifers" Reef Nutrition sells rotifers, and they supply most LFS. Call around and see which LFS might carry their products.

    Feeding dwarf lions

Please do NOT use goldfish or guppies. They are freshwater fish and will cause fatty liver disease in saltwater fish. You should get a feeding stick and use silversides or some other hunk of raw meat (clam, mussel, crab, etc.) and wave it front of your lionfish, simulating live prey.
