A LFS that I don't normally go to told me i should lift all my rock of the sand bed. He said to do this b/c the anarobic bacteria would grow underneath the rock and cause bad problems. So should i lift every thing and but some pvc under my rock???

It might just take time for the nitrates to turn in to the gas and be expelled.

I added my fish first that way my system would already be caught up on the fish waste and stuff.

yes there are mantis shrimp in the fiji area but I really wouldnt worry about it too much. Just listen for clicking noises at night and check you live rock in the creases and holes for the shrimp.
