Tizzo what size tank do you have for the 250s? I just ordered a 175x2 halide fixture with 2 96 watt compact florecents thats 542 watts and its a 55 gallon tank.. do you think the corals will still turn brown?

I dunno i was looking at a Jebo lighting fixture on ---- and the seller says its normal for the light not to be bright when you first turn it on and reaches maximum strength after 4 hours!!!

I started with oceanic but with the unstable calcium level and constant low PH i switched to IO... everything is going great and thriving now... glad i made the switch!

I already have a 55 gallon reef set up with no fuge... Id like to have a fuge and rather go with a over flow system then risk a vapor problem and over the flow the tank itself... anyone know if they make a 55 gallon reef ready tank?

jjlittle the halides are so much nicer cause the difference in watts from your VHO to your MH's are 462 watts.. thats a big difference.. though 8x80 over 150 only equals out to be 4.26 watts per gallon so as jjlittle said you can probally keep softies.. Im looking at upgrading from 220 watt pc...
