Maybe I just don't understand the cycle then. Why would I be getting Nitrates if I haven't seen the first 2 steps? I don't mean to be a pitb about this, but, I guess I will be..haha It was definitely showing between 5 and 10 ppm.

A full week tomorrow afternoon. I have tons of growth and no ammonia yet.

Matter of fact, what do you think these growths are? Any guesses? Pic 1 has the maroon colored growth, and pic 2 has the fuzzy, brown patch. Both are located in the center of the pics. What do you think?

Picked up a test kit today. Ammonia = +-.5, Ph = 8.1, temp= 77, and just wishful thinking I tested Nitrite = 0. Looks like I'm just getting started, eh? All crabs and snail are still alive though. Could be a tough weekend for them though.

Sold the last of my tanks last year. At the peak was running 2 - 10g, 1-55g, 1-75g, 1-90g, and a 300g. Too much work for not enough time though. Out of the hobby for 1 1/2 years, back at it though.
