Yep! Mine is a fighting conch. He'll only get an inch or so bigger, but still, 4 inches is pretty big, especially in a reef tank because the conchs stay on the sand and when they get bigger, they can't maneuver through the rocks as easily.
I have purple firefish in my tank --- they have never tried to jump out. If you have plenty of LR, they will just dart in the rocks, not out of the tank.
Just make sure you put a lid on the bucket you are acclimating them in! I forgot to - and sure enough they did jump out of the bucket! But...
Did you "seed" the sandbed in the fuge with live sand from another tank or your LFS?
If so, you should start seeing them soon. Sometimes it's easiest to see them with a flashlight once the lights are off.
I found that if you put some rubble rock in your fuge, the pods seem to reproduce faster.
I would really only recommend one. I have one for my 45 gallon and he's plenty! Just so you know, they will clean the bed, but they also disappear for weeks at a time (you'll think it's dead).
Conchs also are known to get stuck pretty easily in rockwork on the sandbed (or at least mine does)...
What about regular 'ol flatworms? The red kind?
I did a flatworm exit a couple months ago. They all seemed to die, but then they repopulated REALLY quickly and were climbing all over my coral. So I did another treatment this last week.
Now I look in my tank and some are still there. I...
The most humane way I've heard to euthanize fish is to put them in a plastic bag with tank water and put it in the freezer. The cold will put the fish to "sleep". I've never done it but that's what I've heard from various sources.
Did you sell the powerheads? Would the $25 include shipping to 48108?
I can pay via paypal as soon as you let me know---

Relax Mr. Bot! :)
I'm speaking merely from my experience with hermits. They really just cleaned up particles of food, but didn't touch algae. I find that my cleanup crew of astrea turbo snails (12), nassarius snails (6), fighting conch (1), and emerald crab (1) keeps my tank sparkling clean...
My bet: If snails fall over, they can't upright themselves, so they fall prey to your blue hermits.
I had hermits in my first tank. But when I restarted the hobby, I learned my lesson and I don't have any hermits in my tank. They killed all of my snails.
My recommendation: get rid of the...
