jhebi, I agree!!! I pretty much know my elegence is going to thrive after a couple of weeks. I know basically when something isnt going to make it in my tank in the first few days.

It sounds like you are over feeding. I would stop adding all additives like Bang Guy said. I would also increase your water flow to help get rid of the cyno. I dont see any corals or critters that need any of the additives you are adding and calcium and buffer could be stopped too until you get...

If you raise your alk your calcium will come down. I wouldnt go over 10 dkh for your alk and raise it slowly. What is your alk? Your calcium isnt all that high.

I would test your alkalinity and calcium to see if your calcium is falling out of solution.

No you wont get cloudy water from not running a protein skimmer. Are you adding buffer and calcium?
