Unfortunately, you used a clean up crew to rid the tank of algae, when the problem probably could have been corrected by dumping the two other filter systems you have going...the canister and the wet/dry. Be that as it may, just add a bit extra food, not much. The crabs dont need a lot to eat to...

Check your phosphates in the tank, and as well possible phosphates in replacement or top off water. Post any results. Also, are you overstocked and do you feel you may be overfeeding the tank? Sounds like you have enough flow. Light duration as well seems fine.
