They should make the trip just fine. I'd have them bagged seperately to minimize the chance of an ammonia spike in the water. Put the bags inside a styrofoam cooler and have it in the car with you (not in a trunk).

Let me know if you decide to part it out. I'd be interested in the lighting, sump, and most of the corals. If you do part it out I'd prefer to pay shipping. If you only want it picked up I might be able to do that. Depending on your price San Diego would be a nice weekend trip from Phoenix.

Just as a warning, watch out for the tines (prickly things) in your filter too. I've never been stung in my tank, but when rinsing off my foam pads in my cansiter filter I've been stung before. Now I wear thick rubber gloves to clean out the filter.

I use regular super glue to frag off new mushrooms onto LR rubble for trading purposes.

I've heard CBS can get to be pretty aggressive. I'd also only do 1 cleaner shrimp in a tank that size. I'd also suggest not adding all of those at once, especially in a new tank.

Why would you run the skimmer . . . there is nothing to skim. I'm not familiar with the mag filters, but I don't see why your method would mess up powerheads. I use 2 in a giant trashcan when preparing water for a water change.
