    jap dragon in a150

Just returned from the LFS, where I ordered a 25-26 inch dragon. My LFS called his supplier and got the cost down from $1495 to 995. Apparently the supplier had this eel for 4 months and wanted to sell it. I'm happy with this price from what I've seen online, especially for an eel of this...

    jap dragon in a150

It's going to be the lone fish with a few blue devils. I wish I could find one for 700. I'm working out a deal with my LFS to trade in the fish currently in the 150 against the cost of the dragon. It's going to be $950-1000. I've found cheaper online but my LFS only does credit and I need...

    jap dragon in a150

i would like to get a jap dragon for my 150 but from what I have read online a 180 is the minimum. Standard 72x18x28. Would this tank work for the life of the eel? Only fish in the tank.

yes, (i've never tried, but i bet it would) there are accounts on wwm. These guys are very aggressive- not as bad as my fimby but still bad.

    Jeweled Moray compatibility

It will eventually eat or kill any fish added. Species only with inverts for piscivore eels. I keep damsels with mine, splash of color and cheap to replace.

setting up fish tank with eel

Everyone likes the blue ribbon. They are labeled expert only for a reason. It takes an experienced aquarist to get them to eat and it's still rare. In a 75 you could try a golden dwarf moray, snowflake, a small zebra- it will out grow your tank OR a species only tank with ONE of these fimby...

setting up fish tank with eel

A fimby is going to eat every fish in your tank. Read up on piscivores. I'd recommend the snowflake and one of the smaller lions. i would not add them at the same time, that's a large bio-load to put on a 75 at once. I would also at least double you LR.

Koralia 3 - cold blooded murder

I have koralias in all of my tanks. Only a sick or dead fish would become stuck to the side. Something else killed your clown. I have lost anemones to them though.

If you are anywhere near south Louisiana I'll buy or trade frags for it. I have an o. scyllarus and a g. smithii right now, have two other tanks set up for a g. ternatensis and a n. wennerae.

    What Do Trout Eat?

At least this is informative spam. Speckled trout eat shrimp, croakers, doas, and deadly dudleys- y'all can keep your freshwater trout.

The bubbles are from your sand bed doing its job. They are nitrogen bubbles formed from nitrates turning into harmless nitrogen gas. Don't stir the sand, they will work their way out on their own. Stirring the sand runs the risk of a mini cycle.

Peacock mantis, about as aggressive as they come, and much more entertaining than a lion.

Tang success in a 55 gallon???

No. Clowns are fine, none of those tangs should go in a 55.

    worm in live rock

If you soaked the rock in fresh water over night- you killed everything on/in the rock including beneficial bacteria. Thoroughly rinse the rock before returning to the DT to avoid a spike. Next time do a super-salintiy soak. Soaking the rock in water with a salinity of 1.035-1.040. This will...

    Will This Work

The lion will eat the clowns. A smaller species of lion would be an option. Volitans grow very fast and can eat surprisingly large fish. Mine ate a wrasse that was about the same length of the lion(clowns would be much easier to catch than a wrasse). Depending on size- the lion will eat the...
