    37 Gallon with a 65W compact - enough light for a anemone?

37 gallon - is that a footprint of 30 X 12? I have a 29 gallon, which has the same footprint but not as tall. I use 225 watts of VHO and am keeping an RBTA. (2 actually, due to a split) I don't in the least feel I have too much light, so you may want to look for a similar VHO set up or maybe...

    RO/DI system

Yes, do a search on "the filter guys" - they are located in Duluth I believe, and just ran reef club discounts for most of the Wisconsin Reef clubs, you'll have to check to see if they are still in effect. Also have heard many good things about the Typhoon III from a different vendor..

should I get a protien skimmer?

I have a CPR BakPak and it does a fine job on my small (29g) tank, but I think a 75 gallon tank would be too much for it.

where do you get your ...

I was using grocery store RO water for about 18 months - it cost 30 cents a gallon. I just got a 5-stage RO/DI for about $170 shipped, which should pay for itself in less than a year. Not to mention the convenience....

    Tufa Rock Question.

I also used Tufa for my base rock... I think I read somewhere that it's the lava rock you want to be cautious about, since it's at a higher risk of containing trace metals..

    I.D. help

well, all I know is I've had mine for 18 months and it has never bothered anything, it just seems to graze on algae. Unless it likes softies - maybe that's why I can't get Xenia to grow in that tank

    HELP! BTA in big trouble

I had this exact thing happen to one of my small RBTAs. I noticed it had moved over to an area of the live rock where there wasn't much space between rock and heater. I thought for sure the anemone would move away if it got too hot, but it didn't. The next time I looked, the anemone was sortof...
