Sounds like an awesome light. The only problem I see is that a 29 gallon tank is usually 30 inches long.....

    Anyone use 2 return pumps?

I'm thinking the return in the middle chamber. If I'm shooting for 5x turnover in the fuge section I'll definitely have to restrict the flow to that area somehow

    Feeding my BTA

Well, this is also a matter of opinion. I don't think there's any way to quantitate the perfect amount of food per meal or # of meals per week for an anemone. When I decide to give a "big" meal, I slice off a piece of a jumbo shrimp. If giving this, I only do so maybe twice a week. Smaller...

    Moorish Idol

Just another thought: I spoke to a guy who had one in a 100g tank, it was eating well and appeared healthy. But when he upgraded tanks to a 215g the Idol stopped eating altogether and died - this would indicate they really don't like any changes at all - most fish would love to get into a bigger...

    Feeding my BTA

The reason you see so many different answers is because there is no absolute right or wrong. So in answer to your question, Yes. Meaning any of the listed feeding schedules will be just fine. I've had mine for over a year now, and at times I've fed daily, weekly, monthly, all seem to be...

    Skimmer Question

xxrobb- I have a CPR BakPak on a 29g tank, and personally I don't think it could handle more than a 40 gallon tank. That could be because I don't clean it often enough, on my current application it's a real pain to get to it, remove it, and clean it. Maybe if you used it in a sump this would be...

    Anyone use 2 return pumps?

Modizzle - thanks for the reply. Just wondering, I thought a Mag 9.5 at 5' head would return 750 gph - why do you think 2 would give you 1000? Do you have a lot of elbows and such? Also, the part about no more than 5X turnover in your fuge - thank you, I had a feeling there should be a "number"...

    Anyone use 2 return pumps?

I am planning my sump for my new tank. The tank is a 100g acrylic with a center overflow box. The overflow has two 1-1/2 inch drains. The guy I bought it from only used one of the drains, but I'd like to use both. I am considering having one drain go to the skimmer section of the sump, the other...

what kind of lighting for a 110

    Feeding an amemone

Ryan: In my 29g I have 2 RBTAs. I "feed" them with 225 watts of VHO light. I also occasionally target feed them some chopped up shrimp or blender mush, usually by just squirting some there way with a turkey baster. I have also used a tong or even a long wooden skewer when I have a specific piece...

    Lighting

I have 96w on a 20 gal - enough for softies, but really not for an anemone. On my 29g I have 225 watts of VHO, and have kept an RBTA for over a year. A lot of your options will depend upon the dimensions of your tank, and whether you have an existing canopy you can install something into. Retro...

    Just shake your head

Being a parent of teensagers gives you oh-so-many opportunities for biting your tongue. For a time, I was seriously considering purchasing an ad in my home town newspaper to say in big block letters: DEAR MOM AND DAD: PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGY FOR EVERYTHING I SAID FROM 1975 - 1985. I might...

    HELP!! Fish breathing "hard"!

It's always been my understanding that you want to be moving at least 10 times your systems water volume every hour. So your minimum water flow rate is 370, and if the Fluval at 110 is your only circulation, you need some more. A powerhead would probably be a good idea.

    Gotta lazy Yellow Watchman Goby!

Just get yourself a tiger pistol shrimp - the shrimp will bulldoze the sand around while the goby stands guard
