    Nitrates still high

I take it the tank is new since you are asking about adding cleaners. What brand of test kit are you using? Some are know to give a false positive result for ammonia. It sounds like your cycle is done given the other readings. I'd add some cleaners to start working on the algae and keep up...

    bubble tip ok?

I just upgraded the lighting in my 55 to 2x65w PCs and 2x65 actinic 03s. Now that the lighting is "reef ready" I'd like to get something that will likely host my 2 clowns. Is the lighting I have adequate for a bubble tip anemone? If not, does anyone have another suggestion (anemone or soft...

    Cheapest website for LR ???

I paid around $140-$150 for 45 pounds, including shipping. Thats, what, about $3/pound. I was very happy with how it was packaged and shipped. I got it within 24-hours of it being sent (California to Arizona), so I'm sure that helped with the very little die-off. Corraline was great on some...

    Cheapest website for LR ???

I placed 2 seperate orders from an online retailer and was very happy with both. Email me if you'd like the site. You won't get many responses to this thread since no other websites can be given. :nope: mbrands@cox.net

    What food do you buy?

Hmm. Interesting. Thanks for posting the thread. Mine all eat fine right now, so I think I'll save the idea in case anyone gets sick. Thank though.

New 55 gal., could really use some good advice

If you want to torture and possibly kill your fish, it can be done that way. Most of the users here prefer a more humane method and recommend either using a cocktail shrimp and/or putting food in the tank (without any fish).

    Help please!

The damsel is the only fish that is suitable for a nano tank of that size. If someone at ***** told you they'd be ok do NOT trust that person anymore! You need to get new homes for the other 3 fish. Return them if you can or see if another local fish store (LFS) will give you store credit to...

    The Rundown on Lighting

It is up to you. Look through the ones they sell here on the left sidebar. Snails, hermits, crabs, shrimp, etc do not require any special lighting. p.s. LOVE your new avitar!!

    Help please!

    1. Exactly what kind of fish and what quantity? 2. What exactly are your water parameters (temp, salinity, etc) 3. Was the LR you added cured? My guess is the LR was not cured and you started another cycle. Its too late to remove the LR now, so you'll probably have to do frequent, small...

New 55 gal., could really use some good advice

Take "the little guy" back to the store now! He will die. You need to test a lot more than just salinity and temperature. You need to do more research about "cycling" a new tank. Read other threads on here or use google searches. Here is another great place to start...

    The Rundown on Lighting

Probably not in a 90 gallon tank. I've got 4x65 PCs in my 55 and I don't think I'd try clams.

    Transporting Fish and Tank

I've never moved a tank, so others might have some better suggestions. I would suggest getting a large rubbermaid tub. Put all the rock, sand and water into the rubbermaid. Get some bags from your local fish store (LFS) to bag the puffer and corals. I'd see if they also have an insulated box...

    Will my tank cycle again?

You probably won't see another cycle. Others on this board have done the same thing and didn't have any problems. Since you kept as much of the water as you could and all the LR, you still have all of your beneficial bacteria. The only issue might be how much "gunk" was in your CC.
