My guess would be someone is picking on him. Do you see anyone nipping at him? How recently have you tested your water? What were the parameters? Is he still eating?

One suggestion I read and used was to stack 3 rocks in a triangle shape, then put a 4th rock on top in the middle. That seems to make mine pretty stable. Have fun . . . I spent about 2 1/2 hours stacking mine! :D

I added 45 pounds of cured rock to my tank and didn't have any issues with another cycle.

Loopy, I'd always heard to not feed frozen food until after it had thawed. I feed about a cube/day, but thawed it doesn't float. Can anyone confirm that all frozen food needs to be thawed first?

Loopy, I know how you feel. I was positive that despite drip acclimating for 3 hours and putting him in the tank with the lights off that I killed my puffer. My wife had to help calm me down. :D
