I had a quick question: Whats the difference between Zoos and Zoas? I know Zoa stands for Zoanthids, but what are zoos? Do they look similiar? Thanks guys! Will post my ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate in a bit. Also going to start to get some water going for a 20% water change. Bryan

Just picked up some test kits for pH and nitrate: pH seems to be around 8.0 although it was hard to match up with the chart Nitrate is 0. Hopefully when I do a water change my pH, Alk, and calcium will go back to proper levels. Bryan

Thanks for the replies guys. Im going to wait til I get no readings of ammonia and nitrite. I then plan on doing a water change to try to get my alk. and calcium levels in order. Is 20% too much of a water change after the cycle? After the water change I am going to add my clean up crew. Bump...

Will a Snowflake work? My 55g stock list

Not allowing the tank to be exposed to air seems like it might create a pH problem. Can eels fit through eggcrate? This would allow air exchange. Just my 2 cents.

is there anything wrong with this???

While I agree that some were not as nice as they could have been. Me maybe being one of them. You did ask a question though, and you did get answers. All of us like SW fish and the hobby, you included, when saying that it is illegal to take anything from the beach or telling you that it may not...

The light itself is not in the chamber. While I bought the tank like this, it seems like a simple mod. If you scrape off the paint type stuff on the back there will be a see-through plastic. Take a box, poke some vent holes in it, and stick a small light in it. Velcro the box to the outside of...

is there anything wrong with this???

Test it out, see what happens. If you dont have a problem with the tank more power to you, if you get a tank crash...well you took the risk. If you got it from the beach and it was dry its not live sand anyway so you are still going to need to seed it with LR or LS. Bryan
