Also the light can be a factor, try putting them in a cave. Then pull em out at night to feed em. I use to pull mine out @ 3am to feed every day.

Thats what ya get for using a panasonic camera. Try taking it in portait mode and with no flash. And if you can turn down the ISO and see if it has a macro setting.
