    algae?

Diatom requires silicates to grow. This is just a side-note, UNLESS you added non-argonite sand, in which case you probably added silicon sand which many will say (I don't actually know from experience, just what I've been told) causes increased problems with diatom because it makes for more...

    clown id?

Uh, yes indeed, I do mean ocellaris, or false percula. My assumption is that the others also meant false perc not perc so I also failed to make the distinction.

    clown id?

I don't see how a true black and white perc is so hard to accept. Rare, yes, but certainly very possible. That said, yes it is also possible the picture was altered, but it isn't certain just because a black and white perc would be impossible.

    Powwerhead Location

There isn't one right location for everyone. Much depends on how the rest of the tank is set up. Most likely, the best thing is to put one on each side of the tank and point them towards each other. What this does is gives you random currents, which is more natural. They don't have to actually...

    a bold new look!

I am very familiar with the watts/gallon ratio, but I have never heard of a blanket "4 watts per gallon" rule. 4 WPG for what? I don't get it. Is this just an even MORE simplified version of WPG? Vibe, your tank looks great, I particularly like the plate.

    Confused about MH lighting....

The pendant is the reflector and such that the bulb screws into. The ballast is the box that converts the electricity coming from your wall outlet into electricity that will light your MH bulbs. So, a dual ballast doesn't hold two bulbs, but it does have the wiring for two bulbs. And, the plan...

    clown id?

I agree, looks like an adult black and white percula. This fish looks amazing when true black and white, but I don't care for them when they are just a dark orange and brown and black and white.

will and orange linka star eat zoos?

I'm not going to say "no way" but I think it is VERY unlikely that your linckia can be responsible for eating anything you can even see in your tank.

    Why can't I purchase plants?

msd2, not trying to get you into anything illegal, but check out delete, you may find people that will ship to you (I don't know what's legal or not, that's up to you, just saying people at ---- are likely to work things out)

    freshwater baby turtles

Here she is, Teetoo, about 13 years old now. They commonly live to be 25 and have been known to exceed 50 years old.

    freshwater baby turtles

Everyone is right about them being illegal under 5". However, they are still very commonly sold. They used to be called dime turtles because you could buy them for 10 cents all over the place. They are red-eared sliders, as has been said. I think they make great pets. The problem is that they...

    Removing glass tops???

    1. this seems like such a small chance that while it COULD happen, your fish is much more likely to die from many other different chance accidents. Sorta like how people at the beach are scared of getting killed by a shark, when they are statistically much more likely to die from being hit by a...

    tank janitors

Sounds good to me. You can always add more as needed. I don't think you NEED to add another shrimp, but you certainly can if you want to.

    Urchin for the fuge?

I have not noticed that the urchin's do any significant decrease or increase in coraline in my tank. I have 2 large ones in my 90g. I would think adding one to your refugium would be counterproductive because they love to eat macro-algae.

    Xenia

I would say 5 wpg would be enough. As said, xenia is a light hungry coral. A kinda fun, or kinda annoying thing about them (depending on how you look at it) is that they will migrate up to the top of the tank. Given enough time, it will move up as high as it can. Time and time again, I've put...
