lordofthereef thats funny. and xenia think about it, if she sits in a prison she may think about it for a while but eventually with as sick as she is she'll block it out and then she gets to live the free life. a place to live, food to eat, etc. prisons are way to pampered in my opinion.

yeah Predator's right about one of the lfs around this area. they are awful. care about only the profit and not the customer's needs. thats one of the reasons why i left. working in the retail business and in a lfs i know that that lfs could have taken that pump back, sent it to the manufacturer...

i've had my emerald crab in my tank from the very beginning and he's never messed with anything. he does though like to pick up rocks or corals if he doesn't like where they are at. he finally stopped doing that though when he realized i was boss and the rock and coral weren't going anywhere.

i don't even use a buffer i just dose my tank with cal, strontium, and a few other elements. i've never had any problems with my alk, cal, or ph. in fact today when i tested my water my ph was 8.3 my alk was 3.5 and my cal was 425.

wow that's so cool. i dunno i would say if he has been in there for that long then obviously he is of no harm to anything. in the 3yrs that your tank has been up have you had any strange dissapearances of fish or crabs, etc. if so he would probably be the culprit.

ok for starters the amount of lr you put in your tank is solely personaly preference. if you are wanting to do a reef then it may be of benefit to get more lr because you will have more areas to put corals. i wouldn't get anymore fish. and as for a skimmer i'm not really sure if that's really...

i really think the prizm is probably better. when i worked at the lfs that is the skimmer that i referred every customer to because its price was not to high and it serves it purpose well.

i would go with at least a lb per gallon and you can mix the two together. i did about 3/4 ls and 1/4 ds.
