Please tell me I didn't just break my tank

I'm not quite sure how thick the glass is - not too thick, though. 1/4 inch maybe but that's just a guess. It's a 46 gallon bow-front - 36 inches across. About 10 inches from front to back on the sides and then I'm thinking about 17 inches from back to bow front. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm...

Please tell me I didn't just break my tank

I hope this question hasn't already been asked - I'm not quite sure how to search the archives for this.. I just bought a new lighting system. There was a 2 inch wide plastic bar on the top of the tank that ran from the front to the back. The way the lighting was positioned over the bar, it was...

    Odyssea Products

I bought their pc lighting six months ago. I opened it up this week to change the lightbulbs out and saw that all of my wires have melted and are bare. Plus they're not UL rated. Now I can see why. Just my 2 cents.

Bubble Tip Anemone losing its bubbles

When I bought it, my lfs said it was supposed to be white - it was a rare anemone. I believed them, but I've seen a lot of Thomas' posts on this site and I'd trust him more than them. I've had my bta for months and it seemed to do fine with pc lighting until recently. Just a side note - it's...

Bubble Tip Anemone losing its bubbles

Thanks for the help. I actually bought it from the lfs like that. It's more of an off-white color, but whatever happened, it was like that when I bought it.

Bubble Tip Anemone losing its bubbles

Hey. I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a white bta. I've had it for probably 5 to 6 months now. It split a little while ago. Ever since its split, it's had fewer and fewer tips, now it has only a handful of very small tips that it rarely fills with water. It's losing its orange coloring on...

Getting an anemone off its rock

Guess I should modify that. He's not hosting the one I saved now. He's just swimming around not hosting at all. Not sure if that's normal.

Getting an anemone off its rock

Just a side note, the clown I had hosting the anemone picked one of the split ones and hosted it so I gave the other one to my friend. My clown stopped hosting all together when I took the second half out. It's just swimming around with the other clown now. It goes up to the anemone every once...

Getting an anemone off its rock

I tried the ice cube trick and it worked. It took about an hour and made my clown really mad. It kept biting my arm the entire time, but it released. Thanks for your help.

Mine did that too when I first got it. I was told it was just trying to flush itself and it was totally normal.

Getting an anemone off its rock

Hey. I'm hoping someone can help me. My anemone split last night and I want to give one to a friend of mine. They're both attached to a rock, though. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about how to get it off the rock. Thanks for any help.

    Temperature

I'm hoping someone can help me. I've had my tank for 6 months or so. The temperature has been right around 75 degrees the entire time. My tank has spiked to 82 degress the past few days - probably because it's getting warm outside. I need to get it back down, but I don't have the money to buy a...

    Skimmer Problem!!

I have my skimmer in my sump - my water levels fluctuate because of evaporation, but I add water once a week or so to keep the levels up. When I go out of town, I put extra water in to keep the water level fairly high. I've only had my tank for 8 months or so, but I've never had a problem doing...

    clown hosting ?

I'm still kinda new, but I've talked to my lfs about it several times. They said technically a clown may choose to host anything. I don't know how much I believe it, though. I've looked at a few clowns in a few tanks and I've never seen them host anything but an anemone. I've had two clowns for...

    anemone questions

Hey. I'm hoping someone can help me with an anemone question. I just bought a bubble-tip anemone a few days ago. I put it at a high point in my tank so it'd be close to the light. It doesn't like it up there and moves down underneath a rock. It almost looks like it's hiding down there. I moved...
