I posted earlier about a hitch hiker from some lr I bought last night. Well after many tries and alot of watching, hubby ripped the rock out and put it in freshwater, out came this 1.5 inch mantis shrimp. I think he took out a couple of peppermints last night, he is in a jar now, not sure what...

I bought some more lr last night and saw this thing that is actually living in a hole. I can not get a pic of it as it will not come out of the rocks. Here is a description, it is either clear or tannish color, lives in a hole, it moves and is long like a centapede, it is about an inch or so...

By show I meant not base rock, I want to just add and build upwards, I was thinking Fiji, but was not sure that was the best way to go.

I am getting ready to add about 50 to 100lbs of lr to my tank, which lr is best for use as the top "show pieces"? Fiji, Tonga, Lalo? any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Beautiful!!! I am looking for a pair of tank bred percs, as I recently lost 2 to brooklynella just a few days after getting them from lfs, I later found out they don't qt their fish. So now I am doing my homework. Are these by any chance sold at SWF?

same thing happened to me this morning, i thought he was dead, hanging from a tall rock in the middle of my tank, antenea and all!! but, there he was in his little cleaning station just fine.

i have 3 urchins that came in some rock, i have not seen them since putting the rock in the tank, i will watch and maybe they will come out.

i found that my big cleaner shrimp molted during the night, scared me because i thought it was dead and hanging from my big rock, anyway, he is fine, but do i need to remove the shell? or just leave it in there. thanks

ok here are todays numbers; pH 8.2, Alk 4.5, trite, trate, amonia 0, s/g 1.025. how am i looking?

i just did a partial water change last night, i will check all levels today. we changed about 10g out of 75. i use ro water and never use tap water on anything used in the tank. i will post numbers as soon as i test.

do i need to use a reef buffer? i am using reef builder twice a week according to the directions and have been for over a month now. i also have corals so do i want to also use reef advantage calcium or reef complete?
